ENTERTAINING GUESTS at Palmaz Vineyards is an intrinsic, cherished part of who we are — so we’re always looking for new ways to extend our hospitality and, whenever possible, infuse it with the family’s Argentine roots.

That’s especially true for members of our Brasas Wine Society. In Argentina, Florencia Palmaz was taught by her grandmother the art of the empanada and other Spanish-style tapas, and these days she and the winery’s sous-chef, working from their alfresco kitchen, prepare a curated assortment of tapas to pair with each of the vineyard’s wines — regular “Tapas on the Terrace” festivities exclusively for Brasas members.

To work up your appetite (not that you need an excuse to enjoy great food and wine), your exclusive tour, tasting and tapas kicks off with an exploration of several levels of the Palmaz Cave, where one of our Estate Ambassadors will explain to you and your party how our wines are made using our signature gravity-flow method. Afterward, we’ll escort you to the winery’s terrace to take in the breathtaking view in the company of a glass of 2012 Palmaz Vineyards Louise Napa Valley Riesling.

Then the festivities truly begin, as we prepare a series of small plates in front of you. Love to cook? Roll up your sleeves and join us! Florencia will gladly teach you how to prepare these delectable bites for your next party — a unique culinary experience.

Over the course of the afternoon, through lively conversations about the food and wine pairings and the attributes of each Palmaz vintage, you’ll come to understand how the flavors and textures of each tapas marry with those of each wine.

The wines we’re featuring this season are the 2012 Palmaz Vineyards Amalia Chardonnay, the 2009 and 2010 Palmaz Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2010 Palmaz Vineyards Gaston Cabernet Sauvignon.

TAPAS ON THE TERRACE TASTING: $450 per person. Approximately 3.5 hours; limited to 10 guests per party. Weather permitting; reservations required.
